Easy Senate Score Chart 2006
This year there will be two scores: a vote score and a human rights percentage.

IN 2006, RUSS FEINGOLD (78%)  OF WISCONSIN IS IN FIRST PLACE.  ALL OTHER SENATORS ARE BELOW 70%
COMPARE THIS WITH DENNIS KUCINICH'S 100% SCORE ON THE HOUSE CHART.
ANYONE WITH A SCORE BELOW 50% IS NO FRIEND OF HUMAN RIGHTS.

How the score is calculated:

Home Run (H Run):  This Senator took a stand for the American people. +10 points

AWOL: This Senator was AWOL when the American people needed him/her to take a stand.  – 5 points. This does not apply to cloture votes.

NH: This stands for no harm.  Those who fail to vote against cloture don't have the courage of those who do take a stand but their votes counts with the "nay" votes in a cloture motion.  Therefore, unless a home run requires a vote for cloture on an issue, NH counts as 0.

STR for Strike: This Senator voted or agreed to an outcome harmful to the American people, freedom and/or democracy. -10 points

F: This stands for Fraud.  This applies to Senators who vote one way when it matters and another way when it makes no difference. An example is when they vote for cloture on a bill or nomination and then vote against the nomination in circumstances where the only chance to stop a bill or nominee was through a fillibuster.  In an election year, Senators like to argue meaningless votes and mislead their public into fogetting that they voted the other way when it mattered.  An F will be placed after the total of all Senators who do this on the chart that contains the vote wherein they pull this.  The Fs will also be counted on the final total of the final chart at the end of the year..

Total Score: The accumulated points to date on major votes/consents.

Human Rights Percentage or HR%: Current percentage of Senator from bottom to top of chart, rounded to the nearest whole number.

The vote descriptions link to the top of the chart, and each column header and footer links back to the description for that date.

Votes/Consents counted this page:

6/27/06:  This was the vote on the the Flag Desecration Amendment that elevated a piece of cloth above people and above Freedom of Speech.
6/29/06:  This was the passage of the United States - Oman Free Trade Agreement Implementation act to give American jobs to foreign child slave laborers and to eliminate environmental protections and help bring about the destruction of the planet.
7/13/06: This was the passage of HR 5441, the funding of the attacks on our freedom, the funding of the surveillance on Americans and the funding of the other attrocities of the Homeland Security Department.
7/18/06: This was the passage of H.R. 810, the Stem Cell Enhancement Act of 1005.  This bill had the potential of saving millions of lives through the use of stem cells that would otherwise be trashed as garbage.
7/20/06:  This was the renewal of the Voting Rights Act
7/25/06A:  This was the vote to confirm anti-human rights justice Jerome A. Holmes to the Tenth Circuit.
7/25/06B: This is the passage of the bill to prevent victims of incest and other young victims from crossing state lines to obtain abortions.  Teenage back-alley abortions killed a lot of teenaged girls in 1973.  This bill could result in the deaths of a great many teenage girls.
8/2/06:  This was the $1.8 billion in funding for a fence along the the Mexincan border to satisfy a group of racists.
8/3/06A:  This was an amdendment to appropriate $77 million dollars for the nuclear (as in bombs) navy.
8/3/06B:  This ws the cloture vote on the permanent repeal of the estate tax for the super-rich.   The lower and middle income citizens already pay more than their fair share of the tax while the rich pay next to nothing.  The super-rich estate tax helped to make the tax burden a little less unfair.
