11/03/05:  S 1932 is the passage of the "Deficit Omnibus Reconciliation Act," AKA the "Make Rich Thieves Richer and Middle and Lower Classes Poorer" Bill (or, as Frank Lautenberg wanted to rename it, the "Moral Disaster of Monumental Proportions" Bill).  It's another one of those reverse Robin Hood bills that steals from the middle and lower classes and gives to the super-rich.

11/10/05A: S Amdt. 2476 to S. 1042 would have established a special committee of the Senate to investigate the awarding and carrying out of contracts to conduct activities in Afghanistan and Iraq and to fight the war of terrorism.  Our treasury has been looted by profiteers to fight this warand this was one of the main purposes we fought these wars, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of inncent people and children.  The profiteers need to be held accountable.  The failure of the amendment means they won't be held accountable.

11/10/05B: S. Amdt. 2516 to S.Amdt 2515 to S.1042 is the Graham Amendment recorded by roll call abolishing the right of habeas corpus for detainees of the U.S. Government.  S 2515 was a similar Amendment by Graham that had no roll call.  Both Amendments to the Defense Authorization Bill included a loss of habeas corpus rights.  It passed by a voice vote, reportedly 84-14.  (Apparently, on the roll call vote, more Senators considered the consequences.)

11/14/05: Roll Call 321 was the vote on the Conference Report on the Nuclear Bill (HR 2419)  As the House had already approved the Conference Report this was the last opportunity for anyone in Congress to say "no" to this disastrous bill which threatens California's water and food supply and provides billions of dollars for the kind of nuclear weaponse activities we are opposing in Iran.

11/15/05A: S Amdt. 259 to S. 1042 was the vote on the Levin Amendment to set a time table for getting out of Iraq.  This failed.  It was followed by the passage of an Amendment by Warner, which did not call for the setting a time table for withdrawal.  Both were advisory amendments.  The Warner Amendment, which passed 79-19, was by voice vote.
