Votes/ Consents counted this page:

7/14/05:  Roll Call 188 was the vote to prohibit federal employees who disclose classified information to persons not authorized to receive such information from holding a security clearance.  It was a response to the traitorous leaking of Valerie Plame's identity by Bush Administration Official(s) for the purpose of obtaining revenge against her husband for his act of telling the truth about the Niger Uranium.  As a result of the leak, a whole network of U.S. agents was placed in danger, over 90 lives were reportedly lost and the United States lost its primary source of intelligence on weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East.  The issue is whether people who use classified information to endager lives in acts of revenge should be allowed to have access to more information they could use for more revenge.

7/18/05:  This was the confirmtion of Lester Crawford to be Commissioner of the FDA.  Crawford had a history of placing a right wing agenda ahead of the health of American.  He used subterfuge and lies to try to stop imports of prescriptions by elderly patients who could not get them low-cost except by importing them and he used his religious philosophy to stand in the way of a product which could save women's lives.

7/20/05: Roll Call196 was a vote to prevent funds from being made available to provide assistance to a country which has refused to extradite certain individuals to the United States.  The main reason for the refusal of countries to extradite to the United States is that they have a moral objection to the use, by the United States, of the death penalty, an inhumane practice which has been banned throughout most of the world's nations.  This, in effect, refuses aid to nations who work to preserve life and act on conscience and provides aid for those nations which lack a stand for humanity and conscience.

7/26/05:  This was the vote on cloture on S1042, a the National Defense Authorizeations Act for Fiscal Year,2006, which provides funds for defense contractors, reasearch into new and more devastating weaponry and escalation of the arms race.

7/28/05:  This is the vote on the House bill to implement CAFTA, a trade agreement which places corporate rights above human rights and above the environment.  The passage of this bill by-passed any conference committee to iron out the differences between the House bill and the Senate bill (which passed on 6/29/05) and made the bill available for signature before the August break.  Some Senators changed their vote, possible so they could pretend to be against CAFTA, after having voted to implement it. Senators who received home runs here and strikes for voting to implement CAFTA are noted with an *

7/29/05A:  This was the approval of the conference report on the Energy Bill, which is a boon to Halliburton while subjecting Americans to the the risk of exposure to lethal levels of radiation and mercury poisoning.

7/29/05B:  S 297 prohibits victims of violent crimes, their families and others from suing the manufacturers, distributors, dealers or importers of firearms or ammunition which were used to kill or injure the victims.  In exempting these facilitators of death from liability from the crimes they inspire and assist, the Senate has shown a complete lack of regard for victims of violent crimes.  Note the names of the strikes on this one.  These Senators (including both the majority and minority leaders) have just spit on the graves of the children killed in Columbine and other locations of violent firearm crimes and have encouraged future school shootings.  Have they no shame?
