Progressive Caucus, California Democratic Party:
Members of the Patrick Henry Democratic Club founded the caucus and hope it will get back on track. Currently, the youth of America deserve an apology for abusive attacks on youth by caucus officers. The immigrants of America also deserve an apology. America was founded by immigrants. The youth are the future of America and deserve respect, not insults. The members of the Patrick Henry Democratic Club, who inspired and created the caucus, included safeguards for the fair treatment of these two groups and of all groups. The safeguard to protect these groups has been removed by current officers of the Progressive Caucus, in an extremely insulting, cruel and dehumanizing manner that has left the excluded members recovering from the demoralizing actions of the current officers. The purpose clause had called for support of human rights. This clause has been ignored by officers with respect to individuals falling into a group the officers want to exclude as un-deserving of human rights. The progressive caucus was a group for which there were high hopes. The caucus needs to live up to those high hopes. The members of the Patrick Henry Democratic Club, who founded the progressive caucus, hope that Democrats will stand up and put this caucus back on track. You can help save the caucus with letters, emails and by calling on caucus members to support human rights candidates over the current slate of officers in future elections.
