1/06/05:This was the opportunity for Congressperson to stand up for democracy and honest elections and to demand that the winner of the 2004 election take office. The specific vote involved opposing Bush's Ohio electors who, according to election day exit polls and documented evidence of vote-rigging, represented the candidate who lost Ohio.

2/10/05: This was the day most of Congress, in violation of the U.S. Constitution, voted to end political asylum in the United States and voted to give the Secretary of Homeland Security the right to waive all laws ( with the "all" necessarily including acts of mass murder, torture, mayhem, kidnapping, and terrorism) with no judicial review and no relief (HR 418).

2/17/05: This was the vote for S5 (The Class Action (Extreme Un)Fairness Act of 2005), which makes it much more difficult for victims to seek and obtain damages in a class action suit filed against a wrongdoer who has harmed multiple victims.

3/2/05: HR 27 the Faith Based Jobs Act (AKA Job Training Improvement Act) allows religious discrimination in violation of the Civil Rights Act. It also violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.

3/3/05: the individuals with * by their vote for the3/2/05 voted against HR 841, Bush's Doomsday Plan (AKA Continuity in Representation Act). Absent another terrorist attack, this bill would not go into effect. If there another terrorist attack occurs, HR 841 would allow for the possibility of the theft of the government by those with power, resources and money. A great many Americans believe this bill increases the likellihood of another terrorist attack sponsored by a domestic terrorist. So some groups may want to calculate deductions for this vote into their charts. and to add points for those marked with a *.

3/16/05: HR 1268 provides billions for continued occupation and war on the people of Iraq. Much of this funding goes to private contractors and there are blanket grants of research funding which could be used for further development of biologicial and chemical warfare agents. The bill is titled "Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act for Global War on Terror, and Tsunami Relief, (2005)" although only a small portion goes to tsunami victims.

4/13/05: HR 8 is the repeal of the estate tax for people with large estates. This repeal means that the super-rich don't have to pay their fair share of taxes and continues the class system whereby the rich maintain the bulk of the wealth.

4/14/05: S 256 is the bankruptcy bill which allows credit card companies to take homes away from the sick, the elderly, those out of work and those who went to fight in Iraq.

4/21/05: HR 6 is the energy bill which shields makers of a toxic gasoline additive from environmental lawsuits, opens an Alaskan wildlife refuge to oil drilling, endangering the eco-system of planet.and continues the re-distribution of wealth to the rich and greedy by funneliing more than $12 billion in tax breaks to energy companies

4/27/05: HR 748 (the Child Interstae Abortion Notification Act) criminalized those protecting children who were victims of situations which created unwated pregnancie. It subjected to crimial penalties anyone assisting these minors by helping them corss state lines to go to a doctor without authorization of the parents who allowed the children to become pregnant in the first place.

4/28/05: H Con Res 95 was the vote on agreement to the conference report on the Congressional Budget for 2006. This is included because the budget involved cuts to health care and education, tax breaks to the wealthy and compensation to organizations undercutting democracy in America through oppression and war.
