Bush's victory, and our betrayal, is now complete.  The Democrats, who had the power to stop this insane occupation in Iraq, what we elected them to do, caved completely.  They didn't even have the courage to do it honestly and openly.  The House passed a rule that allowed the Democrats to vote against the bill while guaranteeing that it would pass.  Here's the vote on the rule: http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2007/roll418.xml - after this passed, the vote on the bill itself was irrelevant in terms of who voted against it but voted for this rule.  The funny part is that this vote came right after the vote on "Honest Leadership and Open Government Act of 2007."  What a joke!

They didn't have to pass anything to bring about an end to the occupation, they just had to stop appropriating more money.  No, they had to try and play hardball with the master.  They lost, of course.

Kucinich and Paul voted no, of course.  In the Senate, our brave Senators Clinton and Obama waited until the vote was a sure passage (70+ votes for) before they even voted.  By then it didn't matter either way.

Go Democrats!  (Go join Bush in political hell, that is!)  And take the fools at MoveOn who fell for this sham with you.

It's official: DemocraticUnderground.com is an unregistered PAC for the DLC
If you are a liberal, prepare to be tombstoned at the Democratic Underground.   DemocraticUnderground.com has recently increased its purging of Kucitizens and other liberals.   Simply posting a message that Kucinich has called for the cutting of funding for the war can get a person banned at DU.  Pointing out that Kucinich is right got another poster banned over there.  These are just two of a great many of examples why being a liberal is a tombstonable offense over at DU.  Has DU filed the necessary papers with the FEC to be an advocacy group for certain 2008 DLC (conservative) candidates?  Are they advising their donors that the donations will be going to promoting DLC candidates and to opposing liberal Democrats?  We recommend that all progressives try a forum that is a welcome home to progressive Democrats and other liberals: http://progressiveindependent.com.

Congress is once again leading the way towards war with Iran with Minority (mis)Leader Pelosi leading the call.  Thank Reps. Abercrombie, Hinchey, Jones (NC), Kucinich (OUR CONGRESMAN OF THE YEAR), Lee, McDermott, McKinney, Paul, Waters (OUR CONGRESSWOMAN OF THE YEAR), and Woolsey for voting against another step towards war with Iran.  Also, thank Reps. This follows Pelosi's embarrassing move in allowing Democrats to vote anonymously for HR 5295 (bill to strip-search children), resulting in its getting the required 2/3rds majority to suspend the rules and pass.  If you send your child to Pelosi's office, be prepared for your child to strip and serve in the war with Iran.

Karl Rove, Pollution Corporations and Republican voters defeat  DEMOCRATIC PARTY in Georgia's Democratic Runoff.

Where was the DNC and the DCCC and why did they allow the Republicans to fix Georgia's Democratic runoff and give a Republican-backed candidate the victory?  Shame on Rahm Emanuel, Howard Dean and Jeanette Millender-McDonald for sitting by and taking no action as the complaints came in from voters and Democrats who tried to stop the tampering and received no assistance from their own party.   Acquiescence is complicity.   Anyone feel like contributing to the DNC?
 
Bush scores his biggest win ever by defeating his strongest opponent in a rigged election.  Diebold failed to put Cynthia McKinney on the ballot in at least one precinct and switched McKinney votes to Johnson votes as voters watched powerless to stop the rigging while Georgia police harassed McKinney voters.   The Republicans turned out in droves to vote for their man Hank Johnson in Georgia's Democratic runoff.  Cynthia put up a good fight.  No Democrat in America could have stood a chance under such extreme election tampering.  Cynthia needs to take her cues from Mexico's Obrador and keep fighting until she defeats the Rove-Johnson-Diebold machine and has those who fixed the election prosecuted. 
 
Recommendations for donations:
 
1) McKinney atill needs your money to undo the illegal primary election and keep her seat.
 
2) Send your money to responsible Democrats, such as Conyers, Grijalva, Kucinich, McDermott, Stark, Waters and Woolsey, who will use their positions to fight for you.

On July 26, Congressman Kucinich introduced H. Res. 950, Calling for the abolition of all nuclear weapons. Before introducing the resolution, Kucinich said:
"August 6, 2006, will mark the 61st anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima, which obliterated the city and killed about 140,000 people. Today 30,000 nuclear weapons remain in the world. Many nuclear weapons are deployed. Any use of nuclear weapons would be unthinkable devastation. The only way to prevent the use of nuclear destruction is to abolish all nuclear weapons."

WHO NEEDS AND DESERVES YOUR SUPPORT

Thank Dennis Kucinich, Jim McDermott, Ron Paul and Pete Stark for being the only consistent votes against the rush to war with Iran.   To those who don't know, in February, the House voted overwhelmingly for a resolution "condemning the Government of Iran for violating its international nuclear nonproliferation obligations and expressing support for efforts to report Iran to the United Nations Security Council."  While some others voted "present" and some did not vote, these four had the courage to stand up and be counted against this resolution fast-tracking the next war. 
In April, another bill looking like a declaration of war with Iran was approved by the House.  These four, joined by others, voted against that.  Then, in May, these four and others voted against a bill which appears to call for the overthrow of the elected government of Hamas.  Pelosi lead the majority of Democrats in voting with the Republicans in support of all three of these bills.  We are very proud of Dennis Kucinich, our Congressman of the Year, for leading the opposition to war against Iran and Palestine.

A long time ago in a country far, far away, a rising dictator managed to use a national tragedy as an excuse (1) to round up thousands of suspected terrorists, imprisoning or deporting them,  (2) to push through anti-terrorism legislation, (3) to solidify his power and gain popularity, making dissent unpatriotic, (4) to round up and imprison citizens without the right of trial, (5) later, to use his new-found powers to go to war and invade helpless countries for false reasons and take their resources and  (6) to kill a great many of his countries soldiers in these wars and a great many innocent civilians, both in his country and around the world....

In church, I have learned that forgiveness is not for the benefit of the forgiven but rather for the benefit of the forgiver.  However, most children in America do not attend my church.  I suspect that, when they learn what the current adult generation is not telling them, most will have a lot of difficulty forgiving any parents who support or vote for the Bush administration.   It will be a lot easier for these children to forgive if they do not have to suffer through another four years.  Those four years will further endanger every life on Earth.

Most voters in Ohio chose Kerry. Here's how the votes vanished.

This February, Ken Blackwell, Ohio's Secretary of State, told his State Senate President, "The possibility of a close election with punch cards as the state’s primary voting device invites a Florida-like calamity." Blackwell, co-chair of Bush-Cheney reelection campaign, wasn't warning his fellow Republican of disaster, but boasting of an opportunity to bring in Ohio for Team Bush no matter what the voters wanted. And most voters in Ohio wanted JFK, not GWB. But their choice won't count because their votes won't be counted.
The ballots that add up to a majority for John Kerry in Ohio -- and in New Mexico -- are locked up in two Republican hidey-holes: "spoiled" ballots and "provisional" ballots.

Ohio Stolen (blog entry, gnn.tv) 2004-11-03 16:26:30 "Greg Palast and Randi Rhodes reported today that the state of Ohio was stolen by the Republicans in election 2004. Ohio was the critical state that tipped the balance, giving the presidency to Bush. Turns out one County in Ohio, equipped with Diebold electronic voting machines, reported NEGATIVE 25,000 votes. Wha?!? That’s what at least one election official in Ohio said. The votes from that County are lost. Not counted. GONE!"
